Missing teeth can affect not only your appearance and confidence but also your ability to eat and speak comfortably. Dental Implants are the most advanced, durable, and natural-looking solution available in modern dentistry to replace one or more missing teeth.

Turkey has become a global center for advanced implantology, combining world-class dental specialists with state-of-the-art technology (like 3D CBCT scanning) and highly affordable prices. We are here to help you rebuild your smile permanently.

What is a Dental Implant?

Think of a dental implant as a bionic tooth root. It is a small, medical-grade titanium screw that is surgically placed into the jawbone, exactly where your natural tooth root used to be.

This titanium post then fuses with your bone—a process called **osseointegration**—to become a permanent and incredibly strong foundation. Once healed, this “root” is used to support a new, custom-made dental crown (the visible tooth).

A completed implant consists of three parts:

  • The Implant: The titanium post that acts as the new root.
  • The Abutment: A connector piece that attaches to the implant and sits above the gum line.
  • The Crown: The custom-made, natural-looking porcelain tooth that is attached to the abutment.

Why Choose Implants Over Bridges or Dentures?

  • Preserves Jaw Bone: An implant is the *only* solution that stimulates the jawbone like a natural root, preventing bone loss and facial collapse.
  • Protects Healthy Teeth: A traditional bridge requires grinding down your healthy adjacent teeth to act as supports. An implant is self-supporting.
  • Looks and Feels Natural: It is fixed, permanent, and functions exactly like your real tooth.
  • A Lifetime Solution: With proper care, dental implants can last a lifetime.

The Dental Implant Journey: A Two-Trip Process

Achieving a perfect, lasting implant requires a crucial healing period. Your journey is typically divided into two separate visits to Turkey.

Visit 1: Implant Placement (Approx. 5-7 Days)

  1. Consultation & 3D Scan: Your visit begins with a detailed consultation and a 3D (CBCT) scan. This allows the implantologist to assess your bone density and plan the perfect placement.
  2. The Procedure: The implant placement is a minor surgical procedure done under local anesthesia (it is painless). The titanium post is placed into the jawbone.
  3. Healing Cap: A temporary “healing cap” is placed over the implant, and you are cleared to fly home.

Healing Period: Osseointegration (3-6 Months)

You will return to your home country for 3 to 6 months. This is the most important phase. During this time, your jawbone will naturally grow onto and fuse with the titanium implant, making it a permanent part of your body.

Visit 2: Crown Fitting (Approx. 7-10 Days)

  1. Abutment Placement: Your surgeon will uncover the implant and attach the abutment.
  2. Digital Impressions: Your dentist will take digital scans (e.g., CEREC) of your mouth to create your custom-made porcelain or zirconia crowns.
  3. Final Fitting: Your new crowns are fabricated in the lab and then permanently fitted to the abutments. You leave with your new, complete smile.

Full-Mouth Restoration: “All-on-4” and “All-on-6”

For patients who are missing most or all of their teeth, these are life-changing solutions.

  • All-on-4: This technique uses four strategically placed implants to support a full, permanent, hybrid denture for an entire arch (upper or lower).
  • All-on-6: This uses six implants for even greater stability, especially for the upper jaw where bone is softer.

These procedures allow a patient to go from having no teeth (or failing teeth) to a full, fixed, and beautiful smile.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) About Dental Implants

Is the implant procedure painful?

No. The placement is done under strong local anesthesia. You will feel pressure and vibration, but no pain. Post-operative soreness is mild and easily managed with standard pain medication, similar to a simple tooth extraction.

What if I don’t have enough jaw bone?

If your 3D scan shows bone loss, our surgeons are experts in pre-implant procedures like **Sinus Lifting** or **Bone Grafting**. These procedures rebuild the bone to create a strong foundation for the implant.

What are “Same-Day Implants” (Immediate Load)?

In some specific cases (e.g., All-on-4) where the patient has excellent bone density, it is possible to place a *temporary* fixed bridge on the implants on the same day. The permanent bridge is still placed after the 3-6 month healing period.
